All extreme sports can cause serious critical injuries or death and should not be considered lightly. Now with that being mentioned here are some examples of extreme diving that you could participate in. Space Diving: The view is extraordinaire as you go to the edge of our atmosphere to jump. Consider this scenario. You are ascending to approximately 102,800 feet above the earth (This is called the edge of space). As you climb the temperature drops to 94 degrees below zero and you are on oxygen. During the ascent towards ultra violet radiation the thought of your spacesuit springing a leak or malfunctioning crosses your mind. At about 43,000 amongst the darkness around you the curvature of the earth is seen. Once you jump at the edge of space you accelerate to 614 miles per hour when you reach Earth’s gravity. This is 9/10th’s the speed of sound. Scad Diving:How about the rush of free falling with no bungee cords or a parachute from 164 feet? If that sounds interesting than scad diving is for you. You reach speeds of over 55 miles per hour and land into a suspended safety net. Extreme Cliff Diving: Are looking for a adrenaline rush a bit closer to the ground? Then diving off cliffs with a narrow pool of water as a landing spot and rocks on both sides of you may be the ticket. You may even need to calculate exactly where to land in the pool of water because there may rocks under the water seen only as shadows in the water below. In California there are The Punch Bowls which has several waterfalls and you then jump away from the falls. This attracts cliff divers worldwide. Many cliff dives of 80 feet or more are enjoyed by today’s cliff divers. Extreme Cave Diving: Going in the other direction with a dive you could try extreme cave diving. This sport is extreme because it very easily can be life threatening. You will be part of a small group that pushes your body and mind to the limit. You will go to the limits of gravity by diving into a dark and very unforgiving frontier. What makes this dangerous is that if you do run into a problem you can not just go straight up to the surface, also past 200 meters the simple tasks that you use to free yourself can exhaust you to the point of passing out. This could be fatal. Artic Scuba Diving: In this environment you will have the opportunity to dive under the artic ice with ice stalactites, inside glacier pools or navigate through various passages that are available under the ice. You could also explore various ice caves within icebergs. Also you can open water dive and be swimming with the whales. Diving With Great Whites: If you are looking for extreme heart pounding action, check out Africa and go early in the morning. You will take a boat specially outfitted for cage diving with Great White sharks. You then start by throwing fish overboard to attract the sharks. As soon as a shark or sharks arrive you enter the water only breathing with a snorkel. At this point you get a close up of a great white and its teeth. If this doesn’t get the adrenaline going nothing may.
